4 Layers of Love. Thank you. Just take and chomp and see what all the rage is!
These chocolate peanut butter treats remind me of a Peanut Butter Kit Kat type of treat! The rice krispies makes them crunchy and then they're entertwined with chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow, butter and a little salt.
And those CUPS! Thick and chewy stuffed peanut butter cup rice krispie treats are always welcome! Especially when they taste like this.
I swear, if you had this in front of you, it would not last long. They are really addicting, so you might want to beware ahead of time.
They will most likely, mysteriously call out to you in a haunting, taunting voice summoning you to devour this devilish treat, again and again and again...That's why these are perfect for any kind of party, get-together or major chocolate-peanut butter cravings you might be having.
And...that way everyone gets some and you don't eat them all. *duly noted*
This is love at first bite and sight. No turning back now on these !

Ultimate Chocolatey Peanut Butter Cup Krispie Treats
Ingredients
Chocolatey Peanut Butter Cup Krispie Treats
- ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup butter unsalted
- 1 10 ½ oz bag mini marshmallows
- 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 16 Reese cups unpackaged
Chocolate Drizzle
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips, for melting can also use dark chocolate or semi-sweet
Instructions
Chocolatey Peanut Butter Cup Krispie Treats
- Spray an 8x8'' pan with non-stick spray. Set aside. Can also line with parchment paper for easy removal for cutting on a cutting board when lifted out by parchment paper ends.
- Put peanut butter, chocolate and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat and melt, stirring while melting.
- Add marshmallows and melt into the mixture, stirring frequently.
- Remove from heat and pour Rice Krispies over chocolate mixture and mix until combined.
- Working quickly, press half of the cereal mixture into your prepared baking pan.
- Place peanut butter cups to cover the entire mixture 4 x 4 grid.
- Place other ½ of rice krispie mixture on top of cups and spread out.
- After the krispies have cooled down about 5-10 minutes, make the chocolate drizzle.
Chocolate Drizzle
- Melt chocolate in 30 second increments until melted, about a minute or so and pour into a ziplock bag. Snip a corner of the bag and drizzle chocolate using like a pastry bag, on top of the rice krispie treats. Chocolate will be hot, so be careful. You can also pour the melted chocolate on top of the cereal and use a spatula to spread it into an even layer if you wish, but increase the chocolate chips to 1 cup for a nice layer.
- Place the pan in the refrigerator until the chocolate is set, about 1 hour.
- Once set, remove the treats from the pan and cut them into individual squares. Store in an airtight container.

I've never used soybutter, I would give it a try? It sounds perfect! Sunbutter is another option if you're looking for a peanut butter substitute. You can find it on online or in the allergy/organic section...or probably with the peanut butters. Let us know how it works out! I'm excited to hear!

I just wondered if you might have a "peanut butter free" option. I have a son with a Severe Anaphylactic Peanut and Tree Nut allergy. I have a product made out of soybutter that takes almost exactly like peanut butter. I'm just wondering if you have any ideas how I could incorporate the soybutter into your recipe for the Ultimate Chocolatey Peanut Butter Cup Krispie Treats???

Oh my goodness, Kim! If I were a kid, I feel like I could just skip trick-or-treating for a batch of these lovely treats! I’m thinking I might just have to make a double batch and keep one for myself. So so much yummmmmm!

You'd love this Ben! Pretty tasty and the cups in the middle go perfect with the chocolatey treats! Thank you! xo

I would have too, but don't wanna workout more than I already do. LOL! Thanks so much Kelsie!

I don't mind Reese's, but they have a very simple flavour and texture profile (Too sweet and too smooth to my liking). I think incorporating them in another treat, along with melted marshmallow and rice puffs, does make a trick - it looks and sounds absolutely delicious!

These look dangerously good! I think I could eat a whole batch on my own!

You'll love it! Thank you so much Valentina! xo

My jaw dropped when I saw this. Don't tell my kids, but this is the one candy I sometimes sneak out of their Halloween loot. (Okay, also M&M's and maybe every year is more honest than "sometimes.") This dessert is over the top and I must make it. And with GF rice cereal, it's gluten-free so my GF son can partake. Love!!! 🙂 ~Valentina
