Delicious and sweet! Milky Way meets Rice Krispies! 'Like Wow!' Easy to make and tasty too! Chocolate, caramel, nougat, marshmallow and rice krispies. Do I need to repeat? 🙂

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

In case you need a refresh, the "Milky Way" bar is a chocolate bar made of chocolate-malt nougat topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate and has been around since 1923 introduced by Mars, Inc.  'Like Wow', right?

I can't begin to tell you how many of these candy bars I've eaten throughout my life, but it's a pretty high number!  Hey!!  I'm a confessed 'Chocoholic'...so of course I'm addicted to everything that has chocolate involved.

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

So, a week ago or so, I wanted to make some rice krispie treats for the weekend.  With kids coming and going, it's always so nice and reassuring to have some home-made rice krispie treats around, don't you think?

You shouldn't have a problem making these pretty quickly as they are pretty easy to make, plus they taste amazing!

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

So, these Milky Ways met the Rice Krispies and voila!  Milky Way {Like Wow} Rice Krispies were born.  *Yahooing and clapping hands*

In other words, Rice Krispies stuffed with chunks of Milky Ways and topped off with a chocolate drizzle and more Milky Ways are ready for munching and bringing smiles to all. Because, let's face it, pretty much everyone loves rice krispie treats.

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

These Milky Way Rice Krispies are out of this world, like the spectacular Milky Way we have in our galaxy!!!  You'll understand once you taste them!  Make these sweet treats for your kiddos and the big kiddos too!  You'll get the big "Like Wow!"

    Ingredients

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

    • ¼ cup butter
    • 10 oz marshmallows
    • 5 cups Rice Krispies
    • 1 cup Milky Ways chopped

Chocolate Drizzle & Milk Way Topping

    • ½ cup milk chocolate chips
    • 1 cup Milky Ways chopped

    Instructions

    Milky Way Rice Krispies

    • Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat.
    • Add marshmallows and continue stirring until completely melted.
    • Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies, stir until fully coated.
    • Fold in the chopped Milky Way Bars.
    • Press into a greased 9x9 pan (lightly butter your fingers to press easily) and sprinkle other cup of Milky Ways on top of rice krispies, gently pressing into the rice krispies and allow to cool.

    Chocolate Drizzle:

    • Melt chocolate chips in microwave for 1 minute and stir. Microwave another 20 seconds and stir until fully melted. Pour chocolate into a piping bag or ziplock bag with a corner snipped off to drizzle chocolate on top of rice krispies or using a fork or spoon, drizzle chocolate over rice krispies.
    • Place treats in refrigerator for 5 - 10 minutes until chocolate is set.
    • Take a knife and slide tip around edges of rice krispies to loosen from sides of pan and cut.. Seal to keep fresh.

    Notes

I use less rice krispies in my recipe, than most of the recipes out there. I like them more marshmallowy, makes them more delicious. If you prefer to add another ½ cup or cup of rice krispies, it's your call. 🙂 I wouldn't steer you wrong.
Next time, I'm adding the Caramel Drizzle too! 🙂 Enjoy!!

It adds a depth of flavor to the rice krispie treats and definitely elevates them to another level. Stir in RICE KRISPIES cereal. Remove from heat and add remaining 2 cups of marshmallows and rice krispies ceral.

mmmm that chocolate drizzle! i won't turn down a storebought rice krispie treat, but the homemade ones taste so much better (like basically everything in life). there's something about the storebought ones that taste really checmically to me.

Oh my word, can we just come and live in your kitchen?! These look AMAZING. And I love that you put less Rice Krispies in to make them more marshmallowy! Plus the Milky Way, I'm just drooling over here 😀
