Spray an 8x8'' pan with non-stick spray. Set aside. Can also line with parchment paper for easy removal for cutting on a cutting board when lifted out by parchment paper ends.
Put peanut butter, chocolate and butter in a large saucepan over medium heat and melt, stirring while melting.
Add marshmallows and melt into the mixture, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and pour Rice Krispies over chocolate mixture and mix until combined.
Working quickly, press half of the cereal mixture into your prepared baking pan.
Place peanut butter cups to cover the entire mixture 4 x 4 grid.
Place other ½ of rice krispie mixture on top of cups and spread out.
After the krispies have cooled down about 5-10 minutes, make the chocolate drizzle.
Chocolate Drizzle
Melt chocolate in 30 second increments until melted, about a minute or so and pour into a ziplock bag. Snip a corner of the bag and drizzle chocolate using like a pastry bag, on top of the rice krispie treats. Chocolate will be hot, so be careful. You can also pour the melted chocolate on top of the cereal and use a spatula to spread it into an even layer if you wish, but increase the chocolate chips to 1 cup for a nice layer. Place the pan in the refrigerator until the chocolate is set, about 1 hour.
Once set, remove the treats from the pan and cut them into individual squares. Store in an airtight container.
If you want a more defined peanut butter layer, you can pop the Reese cups into the freeze for 20-30 minutes so they don't melt into the warm prepared rice krispies.
Mini Reese Cups could be used for another option if you don't have the large Reese cups.
