    brownies chocolate chunks

Super easy to make on the stovetop in about 5 minutes!  We could not resist sharing this chocolate chunk brownie recipe with the world!

Perfect with a really cold glass of milk or topped with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream over a warmed up heavenly brownie delight!  *swooning so hard right now*

    Fudgy Chocolate Chunk Brownies

I haven't posted any chocolate recipes on the blog for about a month.  That is totally unacceptable and I hope you will forgive me.

I'm a bad chocolate mom. *holds head in shame*.  Especially when everyone that knows me, knows chocolate is my every 'thing'.  Ugh...but when it comes to desserts, there are so many avenues one can venture down and they all win in my book!

Anyways, chocolate is back in a big way with these comforting, homemade chocolate chunk brownies.  MY favorite dessert of all time, brownies!  Are you on board with loaded chocolate chunk brownies too?

    Fudgy Chocolate Chunk Brownies recipe

Why I Love This Fudgy Chocolate Chunk Brownies!

    • Super easy to make on the brownie batter on the stovetop in about 5 minutes! No bowl needed!
    • You can take these brownies to the next level, by using your favorite chopped milk chocolate or dark chocolate bars, chunks or chips to bring out even more chocolate flavor.  Yes, we went there!
    • If you're afraid it's too much chocolate, I can assure you it's not, as long as you don't go chocolate chunk or chip overload.  Then that is on you. 🙂 You can control it and honestly, we just put in a half cup's worth total.  Some were added in the brownies and then we topped them off with some more chocolate chunks for visuals.
    • There is no baking powder or baking soda in this brownie recipe. I like brownies to be very rich and the texture on the denser side, not cakey.
    • See that crackly chocolate?  Well you get that by adding in the chocolate chunks at the end while the brownie mixture is still warm.  Thank you!  Then add some more on top for extra chocolate drama!
    • Who doesn't love a fudgey brownie loaded with chocolate flavor?  That's what you get with this chocolate chunk brownie recipe!

    Fudgy Chocolate Chunk Brownies recipe

Ingredients You Need for Homemade Fudgy Brownies

    • unsalted butter
    • granulated sugar
    • Dutch processed cocoa powder
    • large eggs
    • vanilla extract
    • salt
    • all-purpose flour
    • semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks, or chopped chocolate bar

How to Make Chocolate Chunk Fudgy Brownies!

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan with butter or non-stick spray and line with parchment paper for easy removal.
    • In a medium sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat, then whisk in the sugar until smooth and creamy.
    • Once that is combined, mix in your cocoa and continue whisking until fully combined.
    • Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla and salt.
    • Once all that is mixed very, very well, add in your flour and stir to just to combine, without over-mixing.
    • Add chocolate chip/chunks and stir, so chocolate starts to melt in.
    • Pour into prepared pan and swirl mixture with knife to further distribute chocolate and spread evenly with a rubber spatula or offset spatula. . Add more chocolate chips/chunks on top if desired.
    • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Times will vary with size pan used. 8x8 will require more time (thicker brownies) than 9x9 pan (thinner brownies). Check brownies at 25 minutes to see progress with a toothpick. If the batter is still wet, they need to bake a little longer, you want moist crumbs.
    • One brownies are baked, cool the brownies, slice and serve as they are or with some ice cream and hot fudge! YUM!

    More Options

    • If you're a brownie lover, sometimes we like to go nuts!  Toss in some walnuts or pecans in that fudgey brownie batter!   Bake away!
    • Brownies and ice cream go together!  Serve these brownies with any of these easy 12 No Churn Ice Cream Recipes!  Hot fudge too!

I make tons of brownies and actually made a brownie recipe that was absolutely underwhelming. Not this recipe…it’s probably the best recipe I’ve made yet and I’ve been baking for well over 50 years. You must try it…its well worth the effort.
