So, I told my husband to get these addictive strawberry brownies out of the house by tomorrow!  I needed him to take charge, and  I don’t trust myself around them and it’s only 9:06 pm and the night’s not over yet. Yikes!!

I need to be strong…Talking about them to you isn’t helping the situation, btw.  LOL!  But that’s what we’re here for.  We talk chocolate, brownies and then there’s denial, hoarding and indulging.

  1. HEY TESS, made these 1 more time with the last sweer? berries of the season; couldn’t even taste the peaches, though brownies were good! again used vanilla and 1 t of coffee, 85% dark choc and 4oz of semi chips and batter was even thicker this time; getting it into 9×9 pan was hard work! as good as they are, dont have the strength in my hand to fold and get these into pan, but they are great, so thx again 4 everything:):

  2. Hi Kelli! Yes you could use an 8×8 pan for thicker brownies, but bake longer by 5-10 minutes. Yes you could use any fruit or no fruit, whatever you prefer. You can always add another egg or reduce the flour by a couple of tablespoons if you feel the batter is too thick for your liking. Have a great holiday weekend!! xo

  3. kim, just made the brownies again but used 1.5 peaches instead of berries; the look great, and see buyer is haveing 4 teeth pulled tomorrow, i’ll gift these to neighbors, friends, but used 1 bar of 85% dark and 1/2c of semi-sweet, but again, batter so think, really hard to get into pan, the peaches helped just a bit!
what about using blueberries, or no fruit at all?
thx again:): kelli; may use an 8in pan next time to make them thicker, have you ever tried that???

  4. I wouldn’t use big chunks of peaches though, cut them smaller if you’re adding them in. So happy to hear the brownies were a hit! YUM!!

  5. hey Tess, theres a lovely young gal who wanted something very chocolatey, and i have a triple chocolate banana bread thats divine; but then she asked for s’berries also, so i thought for this recipe! only problem is this late, berries are problematic, and even though i “washed” 2 qts just the other night, they were all moldy the next day!!! So i have a question: may i use fresh peaches to replace the berries? they’re so much easier, and i just purchased 9 nice size ones to ripen 4 baking!! pls reply asap, as shes buying this psatry and want to get started as soon as a few peaches have ripened!! thanks 4 very much: her boss had 1 brownie and loved it!!!

  6. just put brownies into oven but they smell delish! dont like milk chocolate so used 2 high qualty dark choc of 85%, 8 very plumb berries, sifted the cocoa/flour together, used vanilla, and cause the batter was almost too thick to stir, and really wanted the cocoa to bloom, added a tiny cup of hot water w/a teaspoon of instant decaf to the mix and it looked perfect!!
cant wait to taste, as gift brownies to many friends, doctors for b’days, Xmas, but never keep any 4 me, and recently have eyed then while marketing, and since i’d just bought berries, these were a perfect combo of 2 things i adore! willl gift most of it, but will keep some 4 me!! thx 4 your very interesting recipe :): kelli

  7. They are fudgy brownies, so if you want them more cakey, you can add another egg. If your eggs are small or you overbeat the batter that can have an effect on the brownies. Check your baking powder expiration date. That can also affect how the brownies turn out. Hope that helps Alexis.

  8. I just made these and found that mine didn’t really rise as well. What could be wrong?

  9. I promise you’ll be addicted Laura! I made this batch specifically for me and I’ve been eating 1-2 a day and keeping them in the fridge. They are really good cold! ha!

  10. I’m addicted just looking at the recipe! Why why why did you have to make it so easy? Shoot, now I have to make them, really only because I always have dove bars on hand and well, stawberry season, and… thanks for the recipe! And feeding my addiction!
