Of course, I’m the kind of person who likes to start with dessert first, then eat the main meal, with a couple extra bites of dessert after the meal.  Anyone else programmed like that?  Am I weird?  Don’t answer that, thanks in advance. 🙂

Storing No Bake Banana Pie

  • Store banana cream pie loosely covered with plastic wrap or foil in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Bananas will start to brown after a few days, but this pie is so good, it’s not going to last long!

Make Banana Cream Filling Ahead of Time

  • Once you’ve made the banana filling together, cover the filling with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container.  Chill pudding in the refrigerator until you’re ready to assemble the pie.

  1. Could you layer bananas in the pudding layer as well? Instead of just on top?

  2. This looks amazing! What size pan do you use? I want to double it. I don’t see it in the directions.

    Thank you.

  3. the steps in the recipe itself is missing steps. the crust calls for sugar but the steps do not say when to add it. in the instructions above it says to slice bananas for the bottom of the pie, but this is once again missing from the actual steps of the recipe.

  4. Absolutely Cathy! 1 cup of heavy whipping cream = 2 cups whipped topping after you’ve whipped it. Add some powdered sugar 3-4 tablespoons or more depending on preference. So 2 cups of heavy whipping cream would be 4 cups which is needed for this recipe if you want to do the whipped cream on top! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! xo

  5. Instead of using frozen cool whip can you use real whipped cream?
I haven’t made this recipe yet but I do want to try.
I prefer real whipped cream to cool whip.

  6. I made this recipe for Father’s Day yesterday at my husband’s request and it was delicious! I would just like to say though that the recipe was a little bit confusing. Under the filling part, you mention a store bought, prepared pie crust. I wasn’t really sure why that was there since you give directions for the vanilla wafer crust (which we all loved!) I am thinking that perhaps you wanted to offer that as an option but you didn’t say this anywhere… plus the fact that it was listed with the filling was confusing. Also, in the instructions, you mention nothing about putting the bananas on the crust. I hope this comes across as constructive and not mean since it truly was a delicious pie and easy to make, and I absolutely will refer to this site in the future for more desserts!

  7. This creamy pie happiness is such a fabulous summer treat. I especially love the vanilla wafer crust!

  8. Oh my goodness, how fluffy and magical is this banana cream pie?! I want to just dive into the screen, and I love that it’s no bake! 😀

  9. Coincidentally, my husband has been making banana pies lately. The past two weekends, at least. I will pass this along to him. 🙂 Pinned to my “pie & tart” board. ~Valentina

  10. Banana cream pie is one of my favorites! This looks soooo simple and delicious!
