Valentine's Day M&M Cookie Recipe Tips Before You Start!
- These cookies are so easy to make. I always say, make a double batch, because they're going to go fast! 😉
- Happily, you don't have to chill the dough and in the end, you will get nice soft, thick and chewy tasting cookies.
- I chose to make these ¼ cup size. They seem to be the perfect size for a cookie overall in my opinion, but if you want to go smaller, then do as you will. 🙂
- We added 1 teaspoon of cornstarch to help aid in the softness and thickness of the cookies, so they don't spread. Also to help the cookies not spread, we used butter that was still cool, not softened. You can easily take butter out of fridge and cut into cubes and go from there, or let the butter sit out on the counter for 30 minutes or so. Cool butter makes these cookies exceptionally yummy and thick!
- Once the cookies start to brown on the edges, take them out of the oven, but do not overbake. Underbaking is always a better option when baking cookies, to get that soft and chewy texture. Plus, once you pull them from the oven, they will continue baking.
We used Black Forest Cake M&M's in our cookie recipe, but they would be good in chocolate cookies as well! But you can use any flavor of M&M's or chocolate chip flavors you want to amp up your cookies!
Try them in Mega Quadruple Chocolate Cookies or these Chocolate Fudge White Chocolate Chip Cookies! If you love cookie cakes, you may prefer them in this Marvelous Chocolate Chip Party Cookie Cake or in these Ultimate Gooey Brownies. So many options, you know!?!
