Good Lawwwwd!  Now who wouldn't want Caramel Glazed Apple Crumble Coffee Cake for breakfast, brunch or dessert?

25 Apple-icious Desserts That'll Tempt You is that time again!  Can you feel Fall in the air?  If you are in northern Indiana, you can!  There’s a chill in the air, yet still pleasant outdoors.

So, with seasons about to change, we're gearing up for apples, pumpkin, cinnamon and fall baking! Are you with me?

    caramel apple coffee cake

This Dutch Apple Coffee Cake can be Served so Many Ways!  It’s best warmed up!  But refrigerated, room temperature and even served with ice cream, it absolutely rocks!

It's perfectly moist with the use of  Greek yogurt, which I love!

We used caramel dip in the actual coffee cake in the middle layer and on top of the cake to take it over the top!  You can get caramel dip pretty much anywhere by the apples in the produce section of your grocery store or buy it online. Marzetti's is amazing!

And apples galore are bursting in every bite of this caramel apple coffee cake!  Are you hungry yet?

Love crumble desserts?  You'll love these Strawberry Cream Cheese Crumble Bars too!!

Caramel Glazed Apple Crumble Coffee Cake

    Ingredients You Need

    Apple Crumble Coffee Cake

    • honey
    • butter
    • eggs
    • vanilla extract
    • all-purpose flour
    • baking powder
    • baking soda
    • salt
    • Greek yogurt or sour cream
    • caramel dip
    • 2 Granny Smith apples or apples of choice, peeled and chopped

    Crumble Topping

    • all purpose flour
    • brown sugar
    • granulated sugar
    • salt
    • butter
    • vanilla extract

    Caramel Glaze

    • confectioners sugar
    • caramel dip
    • milk
    • Optional:  Add sea salt on top to give it the Salted Caramel effect.

How to Make Apple Coffee Cake with Crumble Topping

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease or spray with non-stick spray an 9x9 inch baking pan, set aside. You could use a 8x8 if you want a thicker cake, just remember to bake an extra 10-15 minutes.

    Crumble Topping

    1. In a bowl, whisk together all the crumble dry ingredients, then add the melted butter and vanilla and stir until mixture becomes crumbly and moist.

    Apple Crumble Coffee Cake

    1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and honey for about 2 minutes.
    2. Add eggs and beat well, then add Greek yogurt and vanilla and continue beating until combined.
    3. In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder and add to the butter mixture, stir until just combined.
    4. Spread half the batter at the bottom of the pan. Layer will be very, very thin, but will rise in the oven, so don't freak out! 🙂
    5. Place the ⅔rds of the apple chunks evenly over the batter, then spoon ½ cup caramel dip over the apples (warm up in microwave makes it easier) then sprinkle 1 cup of the crumbles over the caramel and apples.
    6. Spread the remaining batter over the crumbles, with a butter knife as best as you can, then add the rest of the apples and sprinkle the rest of the crumbles on top.
    7. Bake 35-40 minutes.
    8. Let cool on baking rack in pan.

    Caramel Glaze

    1. After cake has cooled, whisk together the powdered sugar, caramel dip and milk until mixed well. Put in microwave for 30 seconds and then drizzle over the cake.
    2. Cut into squares and serve.

    So, How About Them Apples?

I'm all about the apples!  Granny Smith's are my absolute favorite and pair well with apple pies, apple fritter muffins, German apple cake and apple dumplings!

If you want to know more information on anything about eating, keeping, and growing apples,  you need to go to Garden Valley Homestead and visit Sally.  Apples are definitely her thing too!

Made the apple crumble and it is delicious. It was a big hit with my church group. Your recipe said 1/24 c. Flour. I assumed you meant 1 1/2 c. Worked out well. Love your recipes.
