I don't know what it is, but cream cheese and strawberries together is like a match made in heaven! It's one of the best combinations ever! This cinnamon streusel topped coffee cake is perfectly flavored and the cream cheese adds the creamiest, tastiest texture! It goes so well with sweet and tart strawberries!

Ingredients You Need
Sugar-Cinnamon Streusel
- all purpose flour
- granulated sugar
- ground cinnamon
- unsalted butter
Cream Cheese Filling
- cream cheese
- granulated sugar
- egg
- vanilla extract
- optional: grated lemon zest
- all purpose flour
Vanilla Butter Cake
- all purpose flour
- baking powder
- salt
- unsalted butter
- granulated sugar
- egg
- vanilla extract
- almond milk or milk of choice
- fresh strawberries, sliced
How to Make Strawberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake Recipe
- Heat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8 or 9-inch spring form pan; set aside.
Sugar-Cinnamon Streusel
- Mix together flour, sugar and ground cinnamon in a medium bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs and set aside.
Cream Cheese Filling
- Using mixer, beat cream cheese until creamy and smooth. Add sugar, egg, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and flour and continue beating until very smooth and set aside.
Vanilla Butter Cake
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
- Using mixer, cream butter, then add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract and continue beating until well incorporated.
- Add flour mixture, alternately with milk, and mix until just combined.
Putting it all together
- Spread cake batter onto bottom and slightly up sides of pan. Spread the cream cheese filling over cake batter. Sprinkle randomly with strawberries and then sprinkle with streusel.
- Bake 60 to 70 minutes until streusel is golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on wire rack to cool.
Can This Strawberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake be Made Ahead of Time?
- Yes, you can make this cake ahead of time! It tastes delicious fresh out of the oven but even better on the next day after it has been warmed slightly.
- Store it covered at room temperature or in the fridge if you want to keep it longer. It will keep fresh for 2-3 days, but don't count on it! It's gonna go fast!
