How to Make Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Frosted Bars

    1. Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13x9 inch pan with non-stick spray and line with parchment paper or tin foil.

    Pumpkin Bars

    1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, spices, baking soda and salt and set aside.
    2. Using mixer, cream the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy on medium speed for 3–4 minutes.
    3. Add in the egg, pumpkin and vanilla and mix together well.
    4. Using mixer on low, slowly add in the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Don't overmix.
    5. Fold in most of the chocolate chips until well distributed evenly. Save out ¼ cup for the top of the bars.
    6. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and smooth until even.
    7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely in the pan, then use the parchment to lift out the bars and cut into 15 squares.
    8. Let blondies cool completely before frosting.

    For Chocolate Frosting

    1. Melt chocolate and set aside to cool.
    2. Using mixer, whip the butter until smooth, then beat in the cooled, melted chocolate.
    3. Add in the vanilla and slowly sprinkle in the powdered sugar. Beat until fluffy and light.
    4. Frost, cut and serve!
