Breakfast for Dinner Month + Krusteaz Breakfast Night Prize Give-Away
Breakfast for Dinner Month + Krusteaz Breakfast Night Prize Give-Away

February is National Hot Breakfast Month!!  *Wootwoot!*  So to celebrate, Krusteaz is encouraging us to have breakfast for dinner once a week.  We all know how putting dinner on the table every night can be stressful, so one way to ease this challenge is to serve up breakfast for dinner once a week.

To to help you celebrate National Hot Breakfast Month, Krusteaz is giving away a Breakfast Night Give-Away to one reader!  You can find out more at the end of the recipe how!

     The Breakfast Night Kit includes:

2 boxes of each the following breakfast mixes:

    • Buttermilk Pancake Mix,
    • Belgian Waffle Mix
    • Blueberry Pancake Mix
    • Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix
    • Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Cake and Muffin Mix

Kitchen items including a whisk, a tote bag, and pancake batter pen

A selfie stick, to help capture the fun!

Now that is a super, super great Krusteaz Give-Away, don't you think?

I probably don't even to twist your arm, besides breakfast for dinner has been popular ever since I can remember. I remember my mom said her mom would often make breakfast for dinner.  She had 14 brothers and sisters, which is like whoa!! Right?

My mom would make pancakes for dinner as a special treat when dad would go out of town for business trips. She made the most amazing, vanilla simple syrup--that was too die for.  It soaked the pancakes and with the most amazing vanilla flavor and it is my absolute favorite way to eat them.

You can not go wrong with good old-fashioned buttermilk pancakes, so I made those for our 'breakfast for dinner' and I also had an intense, hankering for some peanut butter pancakes.

I made those by adding in some peanut butter and vanilla extract to the pancake batter.  The peanut butter adds a subtle nutty flavor to them, BUT...

For even more peanut butter...I made a super easy 2-ingredient peanut butter maple syrup and if you're feeling a little daring, add some chocolate chips, raspberry or strawberry preserves, chocolate syrup and/or whipped cream!  These are great with just maple syrup too.

The pancakes were so light and fluffy, just the way you would expect. 🙂  Soo good!  They are great for refrigerating and freezing for later and I always make extra for this reason.

Btw..I want to mention that I used a a non-stick T-fal Fry Pan that was provided to use with the Krusteaz products.  It rocked!  You can stock up by purchasing at your nearest Target and target.com from Feb 27th - March 3rd in honor of Pancake Day!

    5. With a ¼ cup dry measuring cup, scoop batter onto griddle.
    6. Cook pancakes 1 - 1 ½ minutes per side, or until golden brown, turning only once.

We all have our favorites in our family the cinnamon pancakes, and the bacon pancakes seem to be the all time favorite, Krusteaz is a staple in my cupboard. We eat a lot of muffins, pancakes, and Waffles-- Its one of the best meals any time of the day or night.

My granny would make buttermilk pancakes from scratch every weekend I would visit. She would pour Maple Pecan syrup over my pancakes and I would devour them wanting more. My momma has the tradition now but instead of pancakes, she makes the best blueberry/blackberry Belgium Waffles with Blueberry syrup or just plain Maple syrup. Now I fix for my kids buttermilk, strawberry, and blueberry pancakes and we all have to have either warm Maple syrup or warm Maple Pecan syrup. We have even tried Pumpkin pancakes because we love pumpkin pies, have to say Pumpkin pancakes with some whip topping and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top then add warm Maple Syrup and your in Heaven!! We have those on our pancake nights!!

In our house, we call breakfast for dinner brinner. I love having eggs, bacon and Krusteaz pancakes and blueberry muffins in the evening. In the fall when we have 'brinner', the muffin of choice is the pumpkin!! So many great varieties to choose from. I could eat brinner once a week and never tire of it.

When I mention "mom's making pancakes for dinner!", move out of the way, because they come a runnin!! Krusteaz is my go to for anything breakfast, or baking. The name Krusteaz, always means quality, so I'm never disappointed. I tinker with adding a little of this or that, with Krusteaz as my base, it only compliments the fkavor that's already there.!!

    43. Judy Smith says

      February 14, 2017 at 7:58 pm

I love the Krusteaz pancake mix. This makes pancakes that are light & fluffy. Not dry like so many others. But I have to say I like so many other Krusteaz products. My problem is living in a rural area, so many times these are not available to me. I travel 30 miles to my nearest Wegman's to get what I want & need.

We also love to make delicious desserts with these same waffles, adding ice cream and whipped cream with fruit toppings-YUM! My 3 yr. old Grandson loves the Buttermilk pancakes best and often chooses them for supper. I'm giving this peanut butter pancake recipe to my Daughter, he will love them for sure! Thank-you for this recipe, it sounds like dessert too.
