Peanut Butter Swirl Chocolate Toffee Bark

Celebrate the season with our 4 Holiday Chocolate Bark Recipes!  Chocolate bark is such a classic treat during the holidays and perfect when you want to impress for the holidays!  It literally takes 5 minutes to make, it's that easy! Christmas chocolate bark

To make barks for Christmas, all you have to do is simply melt chocolate, spread it out, and top it with your favorite ingredients. We came up with a few ideas that you may want to try or give it your own creative twist with your own decorative touches.  It's so much fun to make with the kids or with friends and family!

Have you ever tried making chocolate bark?  If not, once you give it a try, you're going to want to make chocolate bark for every season or special occasion!

    Ingredients You Need

    • 1 - 11-12 ounce bag or 2 cups of  dark, white, milk, peanut butter or semi-sweet chocolate chips, candy melts or almond bark.
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening or vegetable oil
    • Toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows, candies, sea salt, toffee, pretzels, nuts, peppermint, cookie bits, etc.

    How to Make Chocolate Bark

    • Line a 10x15-inch pan or cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper.
    • Place chocolate chips, chocolate melts or almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Add shortening or oil. Heat chocolate chips in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
    • Spread chocolate into an even layer on the prepared pan using a rubber spatula or a spoon to spread into an even ¼-inch thick layer.
    • Top with desired toppings.
    • Chill to set then break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days to 2 weeks.  Some toppings may not last as long when it comes to pretzels or cookies, as they can get stale.

    Peppermint Bark

    • Start by melting dark chocolate, followed by a white chocolate, then sprinkle chopped candy canes or peppermint crunch on top. Add some colorful sprinkles if desired!
    • Make sure not to let the dark layer get too cold before adding the white chocolate layer, this creates too much of a separation between the layers.
    • With double layered barks on top of each other, allow the candy to come to room temperature before before trying to cut or break the bark. This gives the chocolate a chance to settle and come together instead of separating.

    M&M Chocolate Cowboy Bark

    • Sprinkle holiday M&Ms, pretzels, salted peanuts and mini marshmallows over melted white or regular chocolate.  I added some marshmallows to the chocolate after I melted it, so some of them were chocolate covered before I spread the chocolate on the parchment paper.

Peanut Butter Swirl Chocolate Toffee Bark

    • Melt milk or semi-sweet chocolate and spread it out.  Then melt ½ to ⅓ cup peanut butter melts or chocolate chips and pour it randomly on top of the chocolate. Use a toothpick and swirl the tip of the toothpick into the peanut butter to get pretty swirls in the chocolate!
    • Add some toffee and some sea salt for some extra love!
