Another obsession, another beautiful day thanks to Reese's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars!  This super easy bar recipe uses a yellow cake mix + 2 ingredients + milk chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and mini Reese's peanut butter cups!

Most of the world is infatuated with Reese cups and chocolate chip cookies, so why not put them together!? We love using a cake mix shortcut to make these cookie bars!

Reese's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are obviously amazing...because I've eaten most of them myself, my husband has ate the other half.  He isn't even a Reese Cup-slash-peanut butter freak like me...but he couldn't stay out of them either!

They are perfectly comforting to my tongue! Peanut butter, milk chocolate, buttery, sweet, extraordinary....pleasurable delightfulness!  I'm in a good place right now!

Ingredients needed for Reese's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

    • 1 box yellow cake mix, like Pillsbury
    • eggs
    • vanilla
    • melted butter
    • almond milk milk, cream or water will also do
    • salt
    • milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips if you want it not as sweet
    • peanut butter chips
    • Mini Reese Cups or peanut butter cups of choice

How to make Reese's Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

    • Take an 8x8 or 9x9 pan, and spray with a nonstick spray. (For thicker 8x8 and thinner 9x9, I prefer the thicker, as pictured.)
    • Using mixer or by hand, mix cake mix, salt, eggs, vanilla, milk, melted butter until combined.
    • Fold in chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and Mini Reese Cups.
    • Spread batter into the pan and smooth out with an angled spatula that has been sprayed with a non-stick spray or use lightly spray hands with non-stick spray and press into pan.  Dough will be very sticky.
    • Barely press some chocolate chips and Reese Cups into the top of the cookie. The bars will rise, so you don't want to push them deep into the cookie batter.
    • Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes, until light golden brown.
    • Allow to cool completely on cooling rack before cutting.

Lining your baking pan with foil or parchment paper and then spraying with a non-stick spray is a technique you can use for less mess when making brownies or bars. It's easy to lift out of the pan onto the cooling rack.

You can also use any candy bars left over from holidays or if you just want to use them up.  Just cut them up into chunks and add them in!  Modify these easily with whatever candies or chocolate chips to make them your style.  Sprinkles are allowed!

Make these golden peanut butter and chocolate bad-boys today! Easy to make and perfect for parties or holidays and especially because we love peanut butter and chocolate together!  Here's the recipe for these easy, easy Reese's & Milk Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars! Enjoy!

I have your recipe for Reese's milk chocolate chip cookie bars in front of me, but the recipe it's self does not come through for me to read the directions On how to make them. Can you tell me if there is a reason for this?

Sorry Cathy, I wouldn't do it, but here's a link that might help you out: http://cooking.stackexchange.com/questions/42933/could-i-substitute-peanut-butter-in-place-of-butter-or-crisco-for-cookies. Hopefully that helps! If it does work out for you, let us all know!!

I'd like to try using peanut butter instead of butter - would it be the same amount?
