This Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie Mousse Trifle is truly a chocoholics ‘heaven’!
It has divine layers of milk chocolate hazelnut brownies, rich chocolate hazelnut mousse, chopped bits of milk chocolate hazelnut bar with loads of hazelnuts and enticing dollops of sweetened whipped cream.
I had went shopping at ALDI and came across these Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Bars from Choceur, but there are a variety of brands that also have these kinds of bars, like Ritter, Godiva, Milka Milk and Lindt, to name a few. I knew these bars would be the inspiration for this trifle.
Boy, was I glad I did. I bought 4 and used 3 bars in this trifle. It’s smooth hazelnut flavored milk chocolate with delicious fresh roasted hazelnuts.
How amazing does that sound? Totally amazing, Ikr?!
Milk chocolate brownies are the way to go with this dessert! I used Pillsbury’s Milk Chocolate Brownies brand, and I roughly chopped one candy bar up and added it in the batter, then again, roughly chopped up another bar and sprinkled it on top of the brownies and baked them in a 9×13 pan.
These decked out brownies are sinful all by themselves, btw, if you want a quick indulgence and everyone will love them. These hazelnut brownies are what makes this dessert! Oh yes and rich milk chocolate hazelnut mousse, whipped cream and more candy bar delight.
This is one of the best trifles I’ve ever had, along with Double Stuff Oreo Brownie Chocolate Mousse Trifle, Ultimate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Trifle, Chocolate Covered Strawberry Brownie Trifle Delight and this Heavenly Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake Brownie Trifle.
For your next special occasion, whether it be a birthday celebration, holiday get-togethers or potlucks, this is what will impress! Wait until you taste it. It’s right up there with fireworks! 🙂
- 1 box Pillsbury Milk Chocolate Brownies
- 2 - 3.52 oz. Choceur Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Chocolate Bars
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Nielsen-Massey's Pure Coffee Extract
- 20 oz. cream cheese 2 1/2 blocks, softened
- 1 1/2 cups Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Nutella
- 2 cups for layering
- 3 cups Whipped Cream for topping
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Nutella
- 1/2 - 3.52 oz. Choceur Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Chocolate Bar
Make brownie batter as directed on brownie instructions and add in 1 roughly chopped candy bar and (optional: Nielsen-Massey's Pure Coffee Extract) into the batter. Roughly chop another bar and sprinkle on top of brownies and bake in 9x13 pan according to directions, 30 minutes or so.
Let brownies cool. Cut into 1 inch squares.
Using mixer, mix cream cheese and chocolate hazelnut butter together until mixed well.
Place 1/3 of brownies in bottom of trifle bowl,
Spread 1/3 of Hazelnut Mousse over brownies, then spread 2 cups of whipped cream on top of mousse.
Repeat with 1/3 brownie layer, rest of mousse then layer with 1 cup of whipped topping.
Add rest of the brownies keeping away from the outside edge of the bowl.
Add rest of whipped topping in pastry bag with large star tip and pipe whipped cream stars along the border of the bowl's edge.
Melt 1/4 cup of chocolate hazelnut butter and pour over the brownies and whipped cream stars.
Sprinkle roughly chopped Milk Chocolate Hazelnut Chocolate Bar on top of dessert.
Place dessert in fridge until ready to serve.
If you want to make fresh whipped cream, whip up 3 cups of whipping cream and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar until you get stiff peaks.
