Ultimate Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Trifle

    Ingredients You Need

    Brownie Layers

    • 2 boxes Ghirardelli Chocolate Brownie Mix, plus ingredients to prepare
    • REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups

    Peanut Butter Cheesecake Mousse Layers

    • cream cheese, softened
    • peanut butter
    • powdered sugar
    • heavy whipping cream or 16 oz whipped cream
    • vanilla extract

    Peanut Butter Cup Layers

    • REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups

    Whipped Topping Layers

    • heavy whipping cream or 20 oz Whipped Topping
    • powdered sugar
    • Optional: Heath Toffee Sprinkles

    How To Make

    Brownies

    1. Prepare the 2 boxes of brownies in a 9x13 pan.
    2. Add 1 bag of peanut butter cups to brownies by pouring them evenly on top of brownies, (but keeping away from the edge of the brownies) and bake, then cool, then cut into bite size pieces. Set aside.

    Peanut Butter Mousse

    1. In a large mixing bowl, whip together 2 cups of whipping cream for 3-5 minutes, set aside.
    2. In another large bowl, whip together both softened cream cheese, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla for 2-3 minutes until thick and smooth.
    3. Add the whipped cream to the peanut butter mixture and whip together until just combined.
    4. The filling will be divided into two to layer the trifle. Set aside.

    Whipped Topping

    1. In another large bowl, whip another 2 ¼ cups of heavy whipping cream and ½ cup powdered sugar together 3-5 minutes, until you have stiff peaks. Set aside.

Layer Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Trifle Bowl in This Order

    1. Place half of the peanut butter cup brownie bites, in the bottom of the trifle bowl.
    2. Next, sprinkle 1 bag (8 oz) REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups on top of brownies.
    3. Spread a layer of half of the peanut butter mousse.
    4. Add ⅓ of the whipped cream and spread out evenly.
    5. Repeat Layers, add remainder of brownie bites.
    6. Next, sprinkle 1 bag (8 oz) REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups on top of brownies.
    7. Spread remainder of the peanut butter mousse.
    8. Add ⅓ of the whipped cream and spread out evenly.
    9. You should have 8 oz REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups remaining. Sprinkle around the edge of the bowl.
    10. Pipe or spoon the remaining whipped cream in center of trifle
    11. Add remaining REESE'S Mini Peanut Butter Cups to the middle if desired.
    12. Sprinkle some Heath Toffee Bits on top of whipped cream
    13. Put in fridge until ready to serve.

    Notes

    • For a shortcut, you can also buy brownies or get those mini brownie bites at your local store if you don't have time to bake brownies!
    • You can also substitute your favorite candies for the peanut butter cups or use cake instead of brownies.
    • Tip: When using whipping cream to make your own whipped cream for the recipe, use a mixer and beat on med-high until you get stiff peaks, along with your powdered sugar.
    • Tip: After you bake your brownies, I like to trim off the chewier edges about an inch or so in, then use the rest for the trifle.

Ultimate Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Trifle

If you're  a lover of peanut butter and chocolate, make this trifle for sure!  If you want to impress, again, make this.  Peanut butter cup lovers will be in complete heaven!

If you want to purchase a trifle bowl, may I recommend Amazon.   You can order it, have it delivered and not mess with searching and stressing and it will be here for all of your special occasions!

I made this yesterday....wow, this was/is delicious! Took care of my cheesecake craving! However, would like to note that I had to trim my brownies also. And put the rest back in the oven to finish baking. (Reese cups were the miniature wrapped one's, I believe you used smaller ones) but was still awesome! Thanks for sharing your recipe!
