It's pretty thick but if you wanted to make it thicker, it can be made thicker by adding more chocolate. Hope that helps Brock! xo
Brock says
Which is the thickening agent? The chocolate or the condensed milk? I want a very thick fudge for a cupcake filling, and don't want it to be at all runny. Would adding more chocolate chips make it thicker? Or more condensed milk? Or add powdered sugar to thicken? What do you think?
Kim Lange says
Yes, once you make it, it goes in the fridge. Up to 2 - 3 weeks, and yes it's thick. 🙂 Hope you enjoy!

Does this go into the refrigerator? How long does it keep? Also when it cools is it nice and thick like the hot fudge you find in grocery stores?

Thank you! Wanted a hot fudge on my vanilla ice cream without much work and no corn syrup. This fit the bill perfectly! Yum! 🙂

Kim, New member of your blog family. Recently retired so I now have the time to rekindle my interest in baking and your site is certainly doing just that. Made the hot fudge sauce. Sooo easy and delicious! I look forward to future recipes from you. Best wishes, Judy

Teresa, I completely understand, too well! It's so rich and sinful. 🙂

Wow, this sauce looks awesome Kim. My problem is I would probably put a spoon into the sauce and just keep eating the sauce - without using it as a topping for anything!
