    Happy Summer-Time!  Finally!  WootWoot!!!  Need a refreshing smoothie to cool down after a tough workout or a hot day at the beach?

    This luscious Super Healthy Dark Chocolate Raspberry & Banana Smoothie is made with fresh raspberries, frozen banana, protein and immune-boosting Greek yogurt, chia seeds and dark chocolate almond milk.

    Dark Chocolate Raspberry & Banana Smoothie

    Did you even know there is dark chocolate almond milk?  Well we know!! This Silk Almond Milk is only 100 calories per cup and it's super delicious!  Especially in smoothies!

    We drink almond milk all the time and I  started drinking it about 10 years ago.  My husband can't have dairy and so I finally broke down, tried it and haven't looked back.

    Did you know that Chia Seeds are a super food!?

    • To soak the chia seeds, place in a jar or small bowl and add 4 tablespoons water for every tablespoon of chia seeds.

    • The measure of 1 tablespoon includes the seeds and the gelatinous liquid that coats them after soaking.

    Ingredients You need

    • Greek yogurt
    • Silk Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
    • frozen banana 
    • raspberries frozen or fresh
    • chia seeds 
    • Crushed ice

    How to Make Dark Chocolate Raspberry & Banana Smoothie

    1. Using a blender or food processor, blend all ingredients, (except chia seeds, if unsoaked) until nice and smooth starting with milk and then blend until smooth and creamy.
    2. Add ice if you want more of a frozen smoothie.
    3. Add more almond milk if needed.
    4. Add chia seeds, if unsoaked or soaked and mix in with smoothie.

      Laura, it does make them softer and easier to chew, but maybe you want to grind them up beforehand in a food processor or blender before adding to your smoothie. I know those seeds can really mess you up when you have that, so I would definitely do that if it was me! 🙂

      After you soak the seeds does that make them softer and easier to chew? I have diverticulitis and have to watch out for seeds and nuts. Looks good though.
