Cookie Tips

  • We love the sprinkles and lots of them!  Make sure you use jimmies and not nonpareils, because they bleed like crazy, especially when you freeze your dough.  You want the sprinkles to look like sprinkles. 🙂  Check out Sprinkles 101: Know Your Sprinkles – a baking basics guide to learning everything there is to know about sprinkles including baking and decorating with sprinkles.
  • Cream of tartar makes cookies rise, plus, it also gives them a lighter and typically more chewy texture.  For more info on cream of tartar, Why Do You Use Cream of Tartar in Cookies? explains it all!
  • It is important to not overmix your dough to keep cookies soft and tender.
  • Add a little almond extract to your cookies for classic sugar cookies with the vanilla extract. However, take care to add 1/8 teaspoon or less because it’s very potent and can ruin the cookies real quick, if you add too much.
  • Underbaking your cookies a tad will help keep them soft and chewy, so it’s better not to overbake!  We want soft and chewy!  However, if you want a crisper cookie, then just add a few minutes on to your baking time and carry on!
  • These cookies are easy to throw together for any celebration or when you’re craving sugar cookies!
  • Since we don’t chill the dough, we get these ASAP!
