- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- ¾ teaspoon salt

- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips, optional
Chocolate Orange Frosting – Make 2 & 1/2 cups of frosting
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 2-4 tablespoons milk
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar

- Preheat the oven to 350F. Spray the tins of a 24-cup mini-muffin pan or a 12-cup muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, orange extract, and salt. Remove from the heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Quickly whisk in the eggs until well combined. Add the flour and stir until mostly combined, then add the chocolate chips and stir until no flour remains. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin tins.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes for, the 24-cup mini-muffin pan and 15-20 minutes for the 12-cup muffin pan or until the brownies are set and the tops or cracked and shiny.
- Let cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Using the tip of a knife, carefully remove the brownie bites from the pan and finish cooling on the wire rack.

- In a large heatproof bowl, microwave the butter and cocoa powder until butter is melted. Beat together with a hand mixer until smooth. Add the orange extract and milk and stir.
- Add the confectioners’ sugar and stir, slowly at first, until incorporated; then beat on medium speed until frosting is smooth and creamy, about 1 minute. use immediately on cooled brownies, or store, covered at room temperature, for up to a day.
