Storing Cookies

These cookies can stay fresh for so long because of the ingredients we used. Oats, a staple in most monster cookie recipes, are known for their longevity due to their low moisture content. And when combined with peanut butter – a natural preservative – the cookies are able to maintain their texture and peanut butter flavor for days.

So store them on your countertop in an airtight container. Not only will they stay fresh for up to 5 days, but they’ll also make your kitchen smell like a delectable bakery. And who knows, maybe these soft and chewy cookies will become a staple in your home, just like they have in mine.

More Variations

  • For other mix-ins for your monster cookies recipe, feel free to add in some raisins, dried cranberries, peanut m&m’s, mini m&m’s, Reese’s Pieces, pecans, walnuts, peanuts, or any type of nuts and so on!
  • Switch out the peanut butter for almond butter, cashew butter or whatever nut butter you need.  Make sure it’s a creamy variety.
  • Chocolate chips are a must in my book, but you can also use peanut butter chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and milk chocolate chips anytime!
  • For oats, we used rolled oats because we love texture, but you could also use quick oats or a combination of rolled oats and quick oats.
  • If you prefer to use salted butter, just bump the salt down to 1/4 teaspoon!
