I love a good recipe with just a few ingredients and this recipe is wonderful, specifically for that reason and when you have fresh peaches!  It tastes like a peach cobbler and cake dessert that is gooey and full of peach flavor.

The peach dump cake magic happens when the peaches below and the butter on top all come together while baking, then you get a bubbly and golden, crispy topping in the end. God help us, you made this way too easy!

Just imagine all the fun you can have switching out your favorite fruits, besides peaches.  Or switching out cake mixes to get your favorite cake and fruits you love or have on hand that NOW you have something to make without putting in a lot of effort.  Want to know more about dump cakes?  Here’s a History of the Dump Cake!

Cake Flavor Options

To spruce up this peach dump cake, we added some cinnamon to the cake mix to give the cake more flavor. The sweetness of the summer peaches baking with cinnamon gives this cake a perfect spiced fall flavor and fills the house with the most amazing aroma!

For more textures and flavors, add some pecans and a vanilla glaze and this dessert is peachy, creamy and dreamy!  Even more extravagant with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!  So good and I’ll warn you now, this peach dump cake recipe is very addictive on it’s own, without all the little extras!

Using Fruits

Use frozen fruits, canned or fresh fruits.  If using fresh or frozen fruits, just remember to add some 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of sugar to sweeten your fruit up.  Apples, blueberries, cherries, blackberries, strawberries all work! You can also use your favorite canned fruit and cake mix to come up with your version of a dump cake.  Can you taste the yumminess?

Peach Dump Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
