Frozen Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups frozen strawberries
- 1 cup vanilla yogurt, Greek or regular
- ½ to ¾ cup milk of choice, vanilla almond, oat, or dairy
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tablespoons maple syrup, honey, or sugar-free sweetener, optional
- handful of ice, optional, for a thicker, frostier texture
Add 2 1/2 cups frozen strawberries, 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to your blender. Toss in 1 to 2 tablespoons sweetener now too if you're using it.
Blend on high until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed, about 30 to 60 seconds.
Check the texture. If it's too thick to pour, add 2 tablespoons of milk at a time and blend again. If it's too thin, drop in a few more frozen strawberries or a handful of ice.
Pour into one large glass or two small ones and drink right away while cold and frosty.
Storage: Smoothies taste best right after blending, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake or re-blend before drinking, since some separation is normal.
Make ahead: Scoop the frozen strawberries and any add-ins into a freezer bag ahead of time, then blend fresh with the yogurt, milk, and vanilla in the morning.
Sweetener: Ripe, peak-season strawberries may not need any sweetener at all. Taste the base first, then add maple syrup, honey, agave, or a sugar-free sweetener only if you want it sweeter.
Fresh strawberries: If using fresh instead of frozen, add a handful of ice for thickness, or freeze the berries for at least 4 hours first.
