Mix the cake mix and applesauce together in a bowl.
Pour or scoop the batter into a piping bag and pipe into the cavities in the donut pan.
Bake for 14-16 minutes until the donuts are lightly browned and cooked through.
Let cool for about 15 minutes. Then, remove donuts from pan and allow to finish cooling on a wire rack.
Make powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar donuts or both! by stirring the powdered sugar and milk together.
Powdered Sugar Donuts
In a small bowl, add some powdered sugar and toss in the powdered sugar to coat the donuts.
Cinnamon Sugar Donuts
Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Dip or brush the donuts in the melted butter, then dunk into the cinnamon sugar mixture coating all sides.
