Ingredients

  • 1 11-12 ounce bag or 2 cups dark, white, milk, peanut butter or semi-sweet chocolate chips, melts or almond bark
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening or vegetable oil
  • Toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows, candies, sea salt, toffee, pretzels, nuts, peppermint, cookie bits, etc.

Instructions

  • Line a 10x15-inch pan or cookie sheet with parchment or wax paper.
  • Place good quality chocolate chips, chocolate melts or almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Add shortening or oil. Heat chocolate chips in 30 second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.
  • Spread chocolate into an even layer on the prepared pan. Spread chocolate into an even layer on the prepared pan using a rubber spatula or a spoon to spread into an even 1/4-inch thick layer.
  • Top with desired toppings.
  • Chill to set then break into pieces. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4 days to 2 weeks. Some toppings may not last as long when it comes to pretzels or cookies, as they can get stale.

Peppermint Bark

  • Start by melting dark chocolate, followed by a white chocolate, then sprinkle chopped candy canes or peppermint crunch on top. Add some colorful sprinkles if desired! Make sure not to let the dark layer get too cold before adding the white chocolate layer, this creates too much of a separation between the layers. With double layered barks on top of each other, allow the candy to come to room temperature before before trying to cut or break the bark. This gives the chocolate a chance to settle and come together instead of separating.

M&M Chocolate Cowboy Bark

  • Sprinkle holiday or any flavor M&Ms, pretzels, peanuts and marshmallow over melted white or regular chocolate. I added some marshmallows to the chocolate after I melted it, so some of them were chocolate covered before I spread it out on the wax paper.

Peanut Butter Swirl Chocolate Toffee Bark

  • Melt milk or semi-sweet chocolate and then melt 1/2 to 1/3 cup peanut butter melts or chocolate chips and pour it randomly on top of the chocolate. Use a toothpick and swirl the tip of the toothpick into the peanut butter to get pretty swirls. Add some toffee and some sea for some crunch!

Fun Snowmen Bark:

  • Add Snowmen Peep Marshmallows and your favorite sprinkles to really give it some joy!

Notes

Use some fun cookie cutters to get some fun shapes!
