Home-Made Vanilla Extract {Madagascar Vanilla Beans + Vodka}

Home-made rich and creamy vanilla extract made with Madagascar Vanilla Beans and Svedka Vodka.

  • 1 ML Bottle Svedka Vodka 750, I removed 1/2 cup vodka out of the bottle and yes I drank it
  • 15 Madagascar Vanilla Beans


  • Use a knife to split the vanilla bean in half and leave about ½ inch at each end intact.
  • Put your vanilla beans in your vodka bottle and cap tightly.
  • Store in a cool, dry place for up to 8 weeks.
  • Give the bottle a shake every week or so.


You can also use Bourbon, Rum or Brandy if you want, and your choice of Vanilla Beans as well.
Patience is a virtue...it will be worth it!!
Vanilla can be quite expensive, to this alternative route to making your own is well worth it (as stated in last sentence) and will save you some cha-ching!
