Instructions

How to Make Christmas Tree Brownies

  • Make brownies, homemade or boxed version for 9x13 pan.
  • Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper and spray with non stick cooking spray. Make your brownies and let them cool completely. Once they are cooled, cut them into triangles, whatever size you want, below is a diagram how I cut mine.

To Make the Buttercream Frosting or use Store Bought Vanilla Frosting

  • Make the frosting or use store bought frosting.
  • Whip the butter about a minute using a hand or stand mixer.
  • Add in the confectioner’s sugar in several batches beating on low after each addition. Scrape the bowl down and repeat the process.
  • Add a tablespoon of the cream while mixing on low then add the vanilla.
  • Beat until you have an even, fluffy consistency. You can add more cream or milk if desired for a thinner consistency.
  • Color the frosting if desired, using food coloring.

How to Decorate Trees

  • Frost brownies with an offset spatula or if you want to get fancy, use a star shaped tip with a pastry bag and start at the top of the brownie and do zig zig back and forth across the brownies all the way down to the bottom.
  • Add festive sprinkles, crushed candy canes, m&m candies or chocolate chips after doing a few, as the frosting will start drying and that way the sprinkles/candies will stick to the frosting.
  • Once they are decorated, let the frosting firm up and then place the brownie trees in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
  • The treats are perfect for Christmas parties and gifting to friends and family and they taste super yummy!
