Ingredients

Rice Krispie Nests

  • 16 oz marshmallows
  • 7 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Easter Egg Candies

Buttercream Frosting

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 3-4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • green food coloring or gel paste
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Grease or spray muffins pans with non-stick spray and set aside.
  • Melt marshmallows and butter in a microwave safe bowl for about 2 minutes. Watch to make sure you have a large bowl, so when they puff up, they don’t fall over the bowl and make a mess.
  • Stir together until well blended and pour in Rice Krispies. Stir until well combined.
  • Take an ice cream scoop or spoonful and add rice krispies into each greased muffin pan tin. Press down with wax paper or use wet fingertips to make a dip into the bottom of the nests to place the frosting and candy eggs in.
  • Let treats set for a half hour. Meanwhile make the Buttercream Frosting.

Buttercream Frosting

  • Using mixer, beat the butter, milk, vanilla, salt and ½ of the powdered sugar in a large bowl. Mix till smooth and creamy, about 5 minutes. Then add the remaining powdered sugar and food coloring to get the color desired.
  • Pipe the frosting into your rice krispie nests and top with Easter egg candies.
