Ingredients

  • 2 cups (16 oz) chocolate chips (white, milk or dark chocolate chips can be used)
  • 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup to 1 cup crushed peppermint candy save some for top, or add extra
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract or vanilla extract I don't recommend adding over 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
  • Optional: 1 cup mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • Line 8X8 pan with wax or parchment paper, set aside.

Super Easy Microwave Method:

  • Melt chocolate and butter in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between until chocolate mixture is melted, approx. 2 minutes. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir to combine. Add ½ of the crushed peppermint (reserve some for top), peppermint or vanilla extract and marshmallows if desired. Top with remaining crushed peppermint candy.

Stove-top Method:

  • Melt chocolate, butter, and condensed milk in a double broiler (or sauce pan on top of another pan of simmering water) over medium heat; stirring constantly until fully melted. Remove from heat. Add ½ of the crushed peppermint (reserve some for top), peppermint or vanilla extract and marshmallows if desired. Top with remaining crushed peppermint candy.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • To cut fudge, try warming your knife in hot water between cuts to keep it the marshmallow from sticking.
  • Wipe the hot knife dry before cutting into the fudge, then wipe the knife clean between cuts.
