So, let’s hop over to brownies!!  I am in love with brownies and these brownies we made for this recipe are from scratch and are amazing!  You can use boxed as well, but home-made brownies…*sigh*  I am in love with these brownies…what can I say?

The kids loved the Oreos on the top and dipped them in the whipped cream, while the rest of  it was dreamily devoured by adults. It’s a fun, delicious dessert!

I had debated if I should put 1/2 cookies or whole ones on top, and I definitely made the right choice.  Go whole Oreos!  YUM!

OMG Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake Brownie Trifle Tips

  • If you use Cool Whip, the whipped cream on top of the trifle will not look as pretty as the real whipped cream.  So, you could just do the real whipped cream on top for the swirls.  Any way you do it will be fine.
  • Also, I said to add the cookies on top before you serve if you want them crunchy, up to you!
  • You can also make the whipped cream for the whipped cream swirls on top at the time as well.  I found doing it later, I could cover my trifle much easier with saran wrap.  It’s not necessary to add saran wrap or seal if you add your swirls as the directions call out, but if you have any leftover, you need to make sure it’s sealed or covered with saran wrap. ????
  • To show off the layers using a straight-sided glass dish is best.
  • If you do not have a trifle dish, get creative, Use a glass bowl or make individual trifles in wine glasses, tumblers, or jam jars.

    1. Hi Jaime! I’m sorry I’m just getting back to you! I updated the directions, but yes you do add it there and on top of the trifle. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

    2. Hi there.
Does whip cream go on after step 4? And then start again with brownies? I see it layered in photos but in directions it only states in on the very top.

      Thanks!!

    3. Oreo is the best!!! This cheesecake brownie trifle is amazing Kim!!! I want to dig right in!

    4. What a beautiful showstopper dessert! My kids would absolutely love this Oreo brownie trifle! The different layers of flavours — yum!

    5. Yes it does take a little time, but yes worth it!! I’ so happy to hear about the dessert ranking! Woohoo! Thank you so much for commenting! xo

    6. Omg, this was the best. It takes a little work to whip the cream and do the different layers, but it is so worth it. My nephew told me that this was one of his top five best desserts ever. I made it in a trifle bowl. Topped it with more oreos and spray whip cream. Beautiful also!!

    7. This Oreo trifle is absolutely delicious. Mine was not as beautiful as your picture because my glass bowl did not hold entire recipe. Nevertheless, the dessert is wonderful! One suggestion to your instructions would be to give an approximate size of the bowl needed. I will purchase a larger bowl for making this dessert because it’s a perfect dessert to take to a get together where there is a crowd. For my family of 4, I will halve the recipe next time. Thank you for such creativity in displaying your recipes. Photography makes your recipes soooooo appealing.

    8. In your recipe under the Oreo filling section, you have 3 T cream…is that heavy cream you are referring to? Looking forward to making it!!

    9. I made this for Christmas dessert and it was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed it. I was grateful to be able to make a dessert the day before – I will definitely make this again. thanks very much!

    10. Im confused about the cheesecake mixture , the directions say mix cream cheese and sugar together, and then says mix the whipping cream and sugar together but I only see 2/3 cup of powdered sugar in mixture. How much goes into the cream cheese and how much goes into the whipping cream

    11. Hi Sharon! Yes that’s a great idea to add brownie bites for a short cut. I’ve actually done that before in trifles. 🙂 Also great ideas about the shower caps for covering the trifle and dough. Love that! Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!

    12. Wow ! I My daughter birthday is next week and although she is grown I still do her birthday like she a little kid.
I think because its so closed to Christmas ,I always wanted it to be special, so looking for something different I found this. This is a exact match for her taste buds.. Can’t wait to see her eyes light up on this one .even though she is 39. I will be making the brownies but thought in a pinch maybe the brownie bites snack bags like Entenmann or Little Debbies might make a great short cut some times.
Also wanted to add about covering it with plastic wrap. Go to a dollar store and find in the hair aisle, a package of clear cheap shower caps. The one I get is a pkg of 15 . They make great covers with the elastic on them, as they won’t squish everything. I also use them to cover a bowl of dough set to rise.. Washable and less hassle then the plastic wrap.. Make sure they are the clear no fabric kind. Happy Holidays to you all

    13. I love your description way better Ben! Mountains of Oreos! Love that. Thanks so much for wanting to dig in, even though oreos aren’t really your thing. That is awesome!

    14. OMG, what a decadent and luscious dessert. Although I’m not a huge fan of oreos (Yes I know – weird), I wouldn’t mind grabbing a huge spoon to dig in. Also, love your poetic mood. A river of ganache… Mountains of oreos… Clouds of whipped cream… Sorry couldn’t resist 🙂

      a river of chocolate ganache

    15. Kim! This is beautiful! And, I totally agree, never enough Oreos! Why are they so good? And with cheesecake? And whipped cream? And BROWNIES? Heaven! This looked like the perfect Holiday treat!
