About Kahlua

If you’re not familiar with Kahlua…Kahlúa is a rich coffee-flavored rum-based liqueur from Mexico and it’s delicious in coffee, cream and all kinds of desserts, especially these brownies!

We decided to go over the top even more and stuff these brownies with Snickers candy bars and swirled cheesecake!  So we get bits of nougat topped with caramel and peanuts drenched  in milk chocolate from the candy bars, cheesecake, AND Kahlua in these brownies.

These are what you call comfort brownies! YUM!

Recently I updated brownie mix ingredients above - previously I had what my brownie mix calls for in the ingredients list and I took them out so there is no confusion and to clarify to prepare brownies as called out on your box instructions.

  1. Hi! Yes, 1/4 cup Kahlua is added to the brownie mixture and 2 Tablespoons is added to the Cheesecake mixture. I updated the instructions to clarify it better. Hope that helps you out! I was probably eating too many brownies…or something when I was writing these instructions. LOL! Happy Baking!

  2. The recipe calls for brownie mix and 1/4 cup Kahlua. The directions say prepare the brownie mix according to the instructions on the box. Is the 1/4 cup Kahlua added to the brownie mixture?

  3. Hey Cherrie – I emailed you, but just in case something went haywire, 1 8 oz. bag of snickers for the entire batch of brownies. 🙂
You can divide them up as in recipe or put them all on top, either way, you’ll still get all those snicker bites 🙂

  4. question: Your photo shows a bag of Snickers Bites, the instructions just says “snickers, quartered”. Do you use the entire bag of snickers bites? I’m heading to the store tomorrow to get the ingredients. Hubby sort of turned up his nose at the idea…so I GUESS, I’ll have to eat them all myself. Somebody’s got to do it!
