I used a boxed pancake mix {Bisquick} as the base for this recipe, because it is so handy to have around the house as a staple ingredient, right? You can use your own favorite brand if you have a favorite!

Cream Cheese Glaze

How to Make Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

  1. Combine melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  2. Mix well and set aside to thicken (it should be about as thick as toothpaste before using).
  3. Combine softened butter, cream cheese until well mixed, then add in powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix well; set aside.
  4. Prepare pancake batter by mixing BisQuick, milk and one egg in a small bowl.
  5. Heat a large pan over medium heat.
  6. Pour brown sugar filling mixture into a zip lock bag and snip off a small piece in one bottom corner. Pour ⅓ cup pancake batter into the heated pan to form pancakes and cook until the edges begin to start to look dry and there are bubbles in the center.
  7. Starting in the center of the pancake, squeeze the filling into a spiral on the top of the pancakes (stop within about 1 inch of the edge)
  8. Flip the pancakes and cook until the bottom is golden. (Don’t panic, the filling will spill out and be a little messy, but it will be fine).
  9. Place cream cheese glaze in microwave oven and heat up about one minute and drizzle on top of the pancakes. (I like warmed syrup so this is kind of the same effect) Enjoy!

Alternative Option

If you want to make this lower in calories/fat intake, you could substitute the cream cheese for fat-free and use the HeartSmart Bisquick.

  1. Sorry, I updated the ingredients for the batter in the recipe. Yes that was kind of confusing, thanks for catching that! Not sure what was going on that day?! LOL btw….These pancakes are sinful! 🙂 Enjoy!

  2. Hi there.

I’m just a little confused about the pancake batter. Under ingredients it says: 1 batch of batter, 2 cups of bisquick, 1 cup milk and 1 egg.
Then in the directions it says to “prepare pancake batter. Mix bisquick, milk and one egg in a small bowl” ….

Okay, so do you mean that you make a batch of pancakes from a box mix and then AFTERWARDS add 2 cup bisquick the egg and milk to the already mixed bowl of batter?..

Sorry, I’m just not sure, and I’d love to give these a try 🙂
