I’m having a major crush on these delectable Triple Chocolate Malted Whoppers Brownies loaded with Whoppers candy and milk chocolate flavor all throughout!  Chocoholics will be in love with these!

What are Triple Chocolate Malted Whoppers Brownies?

Delectable chocoholic malted brownies with Whoppers inside the brownies, in the frosting and on top with some milk chocolate drizzles that are sure to please!   Of course if you love the taste of milk chocolate, malt, a little crunchy and brownies, these are what the doctor ordered!

What I love about these brownies are you can make them homemade or use a brownie mix, which I’ve included so you can make either!

What are Whoppers?

Whoppers are a malted milk ball candy that is chocolaty and crunchy and made from malted milk.  Malted Milk is a powdered substance generally made from a mixture of malted barley, wheat flour, and evaporated whole milk.

They are the size and shape of a very small ball, covered with a chocolate coating with powdery-looking malted milk substance inside. They are fun to crunch in your mouth!

Whoppers Remind Me of 2 Things Specifically…Holidays and Movie Nights! 

Holidays are explainable.  But the movies?  

Ok well ya know…when you get your tub of popcorn, a half gallon of your favorite soda and a box of Whoppers, you’ve made it to the big time!  

There’s just something utterly ridiculous about munching hot buttered popcorn and crunchy malted milk ball Whoppers together with a large Pepsi on ice.  Ok, is that so weird or is it just me?

Anyway you eat Whoppers, by adding them to these brownies will soon be a favorite chocolate malted milk ball brownies delight you’ll love!

Ingredients You Need for Whoppers Brownies

Milk Chocolate Brownies Recipe or (Make Boxed Brownies)

  • Whoppers, chopped or crushed up into bits
  • unsalted butter
  • milk chocolate chips
  • eggs, room temperature
  • granulated sugar
  • brown sugar
  • salt
  • vanilla extract
  • all-purpose flour
  • baking powder
  • unsweetened cocoa powder

Malted Milk Frosting

  • unsalted butter room temp
  • confectioners sugar
  • vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • heavy cream or whole milk by adding more, you get creamier frosting
  • Whoppers (leftovers from Whoppers from Topping after chopping work good)

Chocolate Drizzle

  • milk chocolate chips
  • canola oil

Whoppers Topping

  • 1 cup Whoppers chopped in half, keep tiny bits for malted milk glaze

How to Make Triple Chocolate Malted Whoppers Brownies

Milk Chocolate Brownies Recipe or (Make Boxed Brownies)

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Make brownies from brownie boxed mix instructions by adding malted milk balls into the brownies for an 8×8 or 9×9 pan or make these scrumptious milk chocolate brownies.
  3. To make homemade brownies – Prepare an 8×8 or 9×9 pan, lining pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Melt butter in saucepan on lowest setting until melted.
  5. Add chocolate chips to melted butter, whisking until melted and set aside.
  6. In a large mixing bowl, use a large whisk, lightly beat the eggs.
  7. Place the sugars and salt in a small mixing bowl, add eggs and whisk until just incorporated.
  8. Whisk the melted chocolate, then add into egg mixture and whisk until combined. Whisk in vanilla.
  9. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder together in a small bowl.
  10. Sift dry ingredients over batter and stir in with silicone spatula until just combined.
  11. Fold in chopped Whoppers and pour into pan, spreading out with spatula.
  12. Bake for 25 – 35 minutes depending on size pan. Check center doneness by inserting a toothpick until it comes out clean.
  13. Transfer pan to cooling and rack and let cool before frosting. Place in fridge to speed up process, 15 minutes after taking out of oven. (Brownies and cakes are easiest to frost when refrigerated and are cold.)

Malted Milk Frosting

  1. In a small mixing bowl, cream butter, add confectioners sugar, vanilla, salt, cream/milk and malted milk ball bits and beat together on low increasing speed until smooth.
  2. Dollop glaze over brownies and spread out using a small spatula.

Chocolate Drizzle

  1. Using microwave, melt chocolate and oil together mixture in 30 second increments, mixing until melted and smooth.
  2. Using spatula, drizzle chocolate randomly on top of brownies.

Whoppers Topping

  1. Use a super sharp knife to cut the malted milk ball halves. Place chopped malted milk balls on top of glaze randomly.
  2. Let brownies set and cut into squares and serve. Leftovers should be sealed.

  • ½ to 1 cup Whoppers chopped or crushed up into bits
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 ½ cups milk vhocolate vhips
  • 2 large eggs room temp
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Malted Milk Frosting

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter room temp
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 2-4 tablespoons heavy cream or whole milk by adding more, you get creamier frosting
  • ¼ cup Whoppers (leftovers from Whoppers from Topping after chopping work good)

Chocolate Drizzle

  • ¼ cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ teaspoons canola oil

Whoppers Topping

Notes

For easy shortcut: Boxed Brownie Mix can be substituted for the scratch brownies.
