What are Peanut Butter Jelly Bars?

Peanut Butter Jelly Bars are a delightful blend of two childhood favorites – peanut butter and jelly – in one irresistible snack. Featuring a delicious peanut butter bar and sweet jelly topping, these easy-to-make bars are an irresistible treat that is sure to become a family favorite.

Not only are these bars delicious, but also they’re also incredibly easy to make — requiring just 7 ingredients and 15 minutes of prep time. Ingredients You Need

Peanut Butter Jelly Bars Recipe

  • unsalted butter, softened
  • peanut butter or you can use crunchy peanut butter 
  • brown sugar
  • egg
  • vanilla
  • all purpose flour
  • strawberry jelly or whatever jelly flavor you prefer that goes with peanut butter!

Peanut Butter Drizzle

  • peanut butter

How to Make Peanut Butter Jelly Bars 

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Spray with non-stick spray an 8×8 or 9×9 pan, set aside.
  3. Using mixer, cream butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar.
  4. Add egg and vanilla, and mix well.
  5. Add flour and mix until combined.
  6. Press mixture into pan.
  7. Drop peanut butter and jelly in spoonfuls on top of dough.
  8. Use a knife to swirl the two together into the dough.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Let cool completely.
  11. Melt peanut butter in microwave for 15-25 seconds.
  12. Drizzle warmed peanut butter on top of bars. (I used a pastry bag, cut out a small hole and drizzled back and forth across bars.
  13. Cut into bars and serve.

Save some for later!  You can freeze them too for 2-3 months and just go from there!  (Guilty, I have eaten them frozen too…I know, I’m weird!)

  1. Hi Kim, you could just reduce the baking time about 5-7 minutes, because natural peanut butter has less oil and sugar than regular, so you don’t want to overbake for moister bars. So glad you stopped by!
