Halloween Party Chex Mix Tips

  • When you make puppy chow, muddy buddies or whatever you call them, make sure you coat them entirely with the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture for the first step.
  • We used equal parts of each to get the creamy, chocolate coating on all the nooks and crannies of the Chex cereal.
  • If you add too much cereal, then the powdered sugar won’t adhere to the chocolate-peanut butter mixture. Melt some more chocolate and peanut butter if happens to be the case.
  • The other thing you want to do is, let them slightly cool and then coat them powdered sugar.  If you add the powdered sugar to coat the Chex mix while it’s warm, it will soak up the powdered sugar. Then you’ll have to add more, which is fine, but you’re adding extra sugar.
  • When mixing the chex mixture and the powdered sugar together, you can use use ziplock bags and shake the mixture together or find a large bag or large sealed container to gently toss everything around in.

How Long Does Puppy Chow Last?

What’s great about puppy chow is, it can last up to two weeks in a sealed container in the fridge or at room temperature.  Can also freeze for up to 3 months in the freezer and eat as you desire frozen or let it come to room temperature.

The party doesn’t start until you have this halloween puppy chow mix in hand!  You cannot resist chocolate, peanut butter and candy flavors in these delish snacking Halloween treats!  No one can keep their paws out of this Halloween Party Puppy Chow party snack mix!
